In the last couple of months, it has been difficult to find cleaning supplies in many stores around the country. Especially at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic were people panic-buying cleaning supplies leaving many store shelves empty.

While the situation has normalized a little bit by now, there is still limited stock of these items in many stores, causing some to wonder about how to clean their home properly. To kill the coronavirus, there are a few different alternatives. Any EPA registered disinfectant can kill it, and so can a solution of at least 60% alcohol or 2% bleach. Leaving one of these solutions on a surface for a few seconds is all that is needed to be effective. Since these items are difficult to obtain, it is good to be careful not to waste them. Having a higher percentage of bleach in the solution will just be a waste of your resources. It is good to keep after all the commonly touched surfaces in your home. Faucets, doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls are some of the areas to keep in mind that can become a problem. You should also remember to clean your phone regularly since we easily can spread the virus from our hands to our face when using it.
